This Privacy Policy does not extend to anything that is inherent in the operation of the Internet, and therefore beyond NCCBT Network’s control, and is not to be applied in any manner contrary to applicable law or governmental regulation. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT? 

We collect personal information, or “personal data,” in order to operate our professional association and facilitate our services. “Personal data” is the information that identifies you as an individual, such as your name and contact information. The type of personal data we collect depends on your interactions with us and how you use our website. Some information is provided by third parties, such as when you RSVP to events, and some information is provided to us by you.

You provide us with personal data when you:

  • Contact us;
  • Sign up for membership;
  • Attend NCCBT Network events;
  • Use the NCCBT Network Clinical Directory or Google Group; and
  • Sign up to receive communications from us.

You may choose not to provide certain personal data; however, you may be unable to use a certain service or be unable to access certain functionalities of our website. For example, we need your contact information in order to respond to you when you communicate with us, or to provide you certain services.

Some Personal Data Is Received From Third Parties.

We also collect some personal data from third parties, through technology such as cookies, and when you use third party services, such as when you RSVP to an event.

Some Data Is Collected By Our Website.

Our website collects aggregated data about site visitors which alone cannot be used to identify you. We use this information to learn about how our website is used and to improve our services.

TYPE OF INFORMATION WE COLLECT

The type of personal data we collect depends on the NCCBT Network events and services that you use which may include:

Contact Information. We may collect your first and last name, email address, postal address, phone number, username, or other similar contact information.

Billing Information. We collect data necessary to process your payment if you make purchases, such as your credit card or bank information.

Account Information. We collect information related to your account such as your username or password. We also keep a record of NCCBT Network events you have attended.

Professional Information. If you choose to provide it, we collect professional information to provide Continuing Education credit or to include it in the Clinical Directory. This may include information such as your job title; your professional license, certification, or registration numbers; the name, postal address, telephone number of your employer; the insurance panel on which you are a preferred medical provider; and other similar professional information.

Demographic Information. We may collect demographic information such as your geographic location. We also offer members the ability to list their level of education and how they may identify (ethnicity, gender, etc.) on the private, members-only, searchable Clinical Directory, but this is optional.

INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY

We collect and use aggregated information about site visitors that does not personally identify you. When you visit our website, we may automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address, your operating system and browser type, the web pages you visit on our website, the address of any referring website, the date and time of your visit, and your geographic location. This information is used to operate, maintain, and manage our website. For example, we may calculate the average number of site visitors who visit a particular webpage on our website.

HOW DO WE USE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT?

We use the personal data we collect to communicate with you and to facilitate activities and services such as events, the Clinical Directory or the NCCBT Network Google Group. We also use the data we collect to operate our association and its activities, improve our services and send you event announcements that we think may interest you.

TO PROVIDE AND IMPROVE OUR SERVICES

We use personal data to provide our services, including facilitating communication between you, NCCBT Network and other NCCBT Network Members. We may also use personal data to understand how site visitors use our website in order to improve our website or offer more relevant events.

TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOU

We use your personal data to respond to you when you contact us. We may also use your personal data to communicate with you about events and member benefits, to inform you of any updates or changes to your membership, to process/refund payments, and to send you optional surveys to obtain your feedback about your member experience and offerings. WHY DO WE SHARE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT?

We may share personal data with our members, vendors or other third parties as necessary to provide information or complete the transaction of a service you have requested or authorized. We may also share personal data if required by law, to protect our customers or others, or to maintain the security of our products or to operate our business.

NCCBT NETWORK MEMBERS

NCCBT Network is a tax-exempt, unincorporated professional association of cognitive behavioral therapists which promotes networking and educational activities amongst members. We may share your personal data with other NCCBT Network members in order to facilitate events or to facilitate networking or educational services. For example, if you choose to list yourself in the Clinical Directory your information is available to other NCCBT Network members who have access to the Clinical Directory.

NCCBT NETWORK GOOGLE GROUP

We use a Google Group to facilitate communications amongst NCCBT Network members. All NCCBT Network members are automatically invited to join the NCCBT Network Google Group and you may choose whether or not to join. You may also choose whether to receive and participate in communications related to the NCCBT Network Google Group. CLINICAL DIRECTORY

If you are an NCCBT Network member, you are eligible to list yourself in the Clinical Directory by creating a profile. You control the personal information about yourself which other NCCBT Network members may view in the Clinical Directory, and you can change or delete information about yourself at any time. You may choose not to be listed in the Clinical Directory by not preparing a profile for yourself.

THIRD PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS

We may share your personal data with third parties to perform services on our behalf such as payment processing, providing technical services, or facilitating events. For example, we use Wild Apricot Payments to process payments made through our website. Wild Apricot Payments is powered by AffiniPay, a payment gateway that specializes in payment solutions for associations. These third parties may only use the personal data that is necessary to perform the function required and may not use it for any other purpose. We will not sell or rent your personal data to third parties without your permission.

We may access, preserve, use, or disclose your personal data if we have a good faith belief that the law requires us to do so, or that it is reasonably necessary to detect, prevent, and address security, technical issues, or fraud.

CHILDREN’S ONLINE PRIVACY

Our website is a general audience site and is not intended for use by children under 13. If you become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data through our website, we ask that you notify us by email at support@nccbt.net. Should we become aware that a child under age 13 has provided personal information, we will take steps to immediately delete it.

HOW TO ACCESS AND CONTROL YOUR PERSONAL DATA

NCCBT NETWORK Account and Clinical Directory: You can view or edit personal data connected to your account, including information about you in the Clinical Directory, by logging into your NCCBT Network account online.

Access Requests: You may also contact us directly by email to request access to, correct, change or delete your personal data. If you contact us with a request, we may need to ask for additional information from you in order to confirm your identity. This is to ensure that your personal information is not disclosed to a person who does not have a right to receive it. We will endeavor to respond to your inquiry within 30 days. Please note that we may have a legal obligation to preserve certain data.

YOUR CALIFORNIA RIGHTS

If you are a California resident, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits you to make an annual request for information regarding the disclosure of categories of your personal data NCCBT Network has shared with a third party for the third party’s direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal data to any third party to use for its own direct marketing purposes. Our website does not sell personal information.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA), you have the right:

  • To know what categories and/or specific items of personal information are collected about you. You may submit a verifiable consumer request to support@nccbt.net.

  • Subject to statutory exemptions and exceptions, to request that we delete personal information that we have collected about you. You may submit a request for deletion to support@nccbt.net.
